I would like to think that I chose to work for OVC but when I look back, I know that OVC chose me.

When my dreams of travelling were still brand-new, I found myself in the UK at the OVC Hostel in Earls Court, crying my eyes out, not knowing where to start and wondering oh why had my pride led me to this familiar, yet strange land.

It was there on that lower bunk bed that I was comforted by my fellow OVCers - I found a way to make things work and become the person that I am today.

I had no idea then that everything is a circle and that one day I would be managing my own OVC franchise.

My travels started in the UK and got more adventurous the longer I stayed. I can honestly say that I loved every single moment of my time travelling. Most clients ask me if I would do it all again if I had the chance, and my answer is always the same: "In a heartbeat."

The saying is that you cannot choose your family - this is how I feel about OVC, it is in my blood, my chosen family. I believe that young South Africans should have the opportunity to travel and to learn more about other cultures, but more importantly about themselves. I wish for them to become independent so that when they return to SA, they can come back and lead us.

My wish is to help make a positive difference in my clients adventures and in a funny way, I am living mine all over again every day.
